I'd been an Instagram user since way back in my 365 iPhone project, but at the time I only used it for the filters and not really the social aspect.
But recently I've really got into the social aspect, and since doing so I've pretty much forgotten about Twitter. Maybe it's because I'm a photographer but I find a photo describes a moment or feeling far better than 147 characters ever could and gives you a much better window into the eyes of the few celebrities and musicians I follow.
Because most of the celebrity Instagram lists online are terrible unless you want to follow a Kardashian, here is list of musicians and bands who Instagramers.
