Night Shooting

With so little daylight during the Swedish winter, you don't have much choice but to brush up on your night shooting skills.

It was a cold night, just below freezing.  Armed with my Canon A-1, a 50mm f1.4 lens and some Kodak Portra 400 I shot until my fingers we're frozen, but luckily old analogue cameras have lots of big levers and buttons that are easy to work with numb fingers.

Biopalatset glow

I wanted to see what would happen if I multi-exposed a shot that was out of focus, then overlaid it with one that was in focus. Stupidly, when I first had this idea I'd forgotten my tripod because you really need to overlay them perfectly to get the best effect.

I think the effect turned out kinda cool.

Sometimes being caught in the rain isn't so bad

Sunshine and showers

I've been catching up with scanning my film negatives from last summer and caught this rare moment when it was both sunny and raining at the same time.

While spending years walking too and from school in every possible weather Rossendale could throw at me gave me a general dislike of rain, these kind of moments make it not so bad to be caught out in a shower.

Dirty records

Maybe it reminds me of growing up when I used to spend all my lunch money on an Album at the start of the week, before living on donuts and iced-fingers for the rest of the school week.

It seems weirder because I don't even have a record player, sold all my CD's a few years back and find all my music these day's on Spotify.
